This week in Theatre: Students learn the art of scene painting

10.15.2014 | By: Texas Wesleyan University

Our students are working hard in our advanced scenic painting class with instructor Brynn Bristol.

Scene Painting is an essential part of theatre stage design, and theatre artists must experience scenic painting as it is fundamental in creating the illusion of three dimensions or reinforcing dimensional scenery.

Students will learn to mix paint, transfer small art to large areas, copy paintings and practice all techniques of scenic art and design techniques. They will also learn different concepts of color, texture and demension. We are excited to see what our students produce.

Stay tuned next week for more news in the theatre.
