Congratulations to theatre major, Jasmine West! She was just tapped into Texas Wesleyan's chapter of Mortar Board for the 2016-17 school year! On Tuesday, March 22, representatives from Mortar Board stopped by her Theatre History II class to give Jasmine the good news.

Mortar Board is a national honor society whose members are college seniors that have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership and service to both their university and their community.

Each year approximately 30 members are selected from all areas of the Texas Wesleyan community to be a part of the university's Quadrangle Chapter. Membership in Texas Wesleyan's Mortar Board is not only based on past accomplishments, but also involves sincere dedication to promoting the goals and ideals of the organization.

Jasmine has been seen onstage in Theatre Wesleyan's productions of The School For Scandal, Rent, Fuddy Meers and 33 Variations. She also had positions backstage for the productions of The Survivor, The 39 Steps, Metamorphoses, Sylvia, The Drowsy Chaperone and Craving Gravy. She is also a member of Alpha Psi Omega - National Theatre Honor Society and a recipient of the Dean's List Award.
