Theatre Wesleyan's production of the Tony Award®-winning Best Musical, Spring Awakening by Duncan Sheik & Steven Sater, resumes performances this Friday, Nov. 10, and closes on Sunday, Nov. 12.
Over 200 patrons attended the show last weekend for its opening performances, a majority of patrons being Texas Wesleyan University students and students from other universities like TCU, UT Dallas and TCC, in addition to local high schools.
Spring Awakening explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with a poignancy and passion that is illuminating and unforgettable. The landmark musical is an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality and rock and roll that is exhilarating audiences across the nation like no other musical in years.
Spring Awakening is directed by Emily Cherry, alumna and adjunct instructor of theatre, and performances will be held at the Thad Smotherman Theatre on the Texas Wesleyan University campus at 1205 Binkley Street, Fort Worth, Texas, 76105.
Spring Awakening is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
A Theatre Wesleyan alumni reunion event will be held following the Saturday, Nov. 11 performance. The event will be held at the Baker Building, 3021 East Rosedale Street. Texas Wesleyan students can redeem their free tickets in-person at the Box Office or by purchasing tickets online using the code "SGA" at checkout. Those tickets can be picked up at the Thad Smotherman Theatre Will Call window of the Box Office beginning one hour before showtime, upon presenting their student ID.
