Theatre Wesleyan will continue their long-running Playmarket series on Sunday, May 1 with two performances of Telling Tales.
Telling Tales is written by Logan Rodgers, Kimberly Vankirk, Cameron Byerly, Dean Phillips & Carlos Brumfield. This production is part of a devised project in which the playwrights used a basis of inspiration for their stories and streamlined them together into the script that will be presented in May.
The production is an original work and the production elements - from direction, choreography, music composition, and staging - will be student-created.
As a woman nears the predetermined end of her life, she shares ‘tales’ with the man who is charged with her death. Based on world mythology and religious beliefs, this collaborative production features the work of 5 student playwrights, 3 student directors, 10 student designers and more than a dozen student & alumni actors.
Performances will be held at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 at the Thad Smotherman Theatre in the Law Sone Fine Arts building.
Admission to the show is free.
