MSNA Admission Requirements

Education and Test Scores
  1. Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited college or university
    • Because this is a competitive program, your nursing degree must have included clinicals and degrees must come from institutions that use a traditional grading system. 
  2. GRE scores, writing included (Reporting code: 6828)
  3. GPA of 3.0 or greater (Overall or last 60 hours)
  4. A college-level chemistry course completed within three years of program start date


Nursing Experience and Licensure
  1. Current unrestricted RN license that is valid within one of the 50 states or U.S. territories
    • License must be free from probation, suspension or stipulations
  2. An appropriate state RN license is required for Phase II training
  3. Minimum of one year of full-time critical care experience by Feb. 1 of the year of your planned start date
    • Pediatric ICU experience is accepted for the requirement
    • Must be within three years of your planned start date
    • Must be from a hospital in the U.S., U.S. territories or at a U.S. military hospital
  4. Current ACLS Certification
  5. Current PALS Certification


Clinical Site Assignment

You will rank your clinical facility preferences when you apply, but sites are assigned on a competitive basis.

Test scores, references and interview performance are taken into account during the application process, and the students who rank highest are assigned sites first.
