Are you ready to advance your nursing career to a new level of autonomy and professional respect in clinical practice? Nurses have specialized in the administration of anesthesia since the Civil War creating one of the earliest and most respected advanced practice specializations for nursing. Today CRNAs provide anesthesia for all types of patients in every surgical or procedural setting. CRNAs also enjoy one of the highest job satisfaction rates in nursing. Expand Your Opportunities!

The educational preparation of CRNAs continues to change. All entry level nurse anesthesia programs will likely be at the practice doctorate level by 2022. Baccalaureate prepared CRNAs will then find themselves two degree levels below the new graduate CRNA. The lack of an advanced degree may limit your ability to practice anesthesia in another state or obtain a position in nurse anesthesia education. If you are concerned about these issues or if you are concerned that new graduate CRNAs with master’s or doctoral degrees will decrease your marketability, now is a good time to obtain your Master of Health Science degree. The program is designed for the baccalaureate prepared CRNA desiring to earn a master’s degree. Courses may be taken in residency or online. It can be completed in one year full-time or over several years part-time.
