Student CRNAs meet with state senators at summit

03.07.2016 | By: Texas Wesleyan University

Texas Wesleyan was proud to have 80 GPNA students attend the 2016 Governance Summit in Austin in January. Students had an opportunity to meet with state senators and representatives to discuss important issues pertaining to the practice of Texas CRNAs.

CRNAs often advocate on issues concerning patient safety, scope of practice and healthcare availability.

Assistant Professor Dion Gabaldon, DHA, CRNA led the student mentoring team. Gabaldon said, “Texas Wesleyan graduates have been providing anesthesia to Texans since 1984. Therefore, our alumni and current GPNA students have the most to gain from professional advocacy and promoting Texas nurse anesthesia practice.”
