Banda Sinfónica de Zacatecas performs on campus Jan. 17

Concierto Banda Sinfónica del Estado de Zacatecas

In conjunction with the Federation de Club Zacatecas of Fort Worth and Los Pastores Restaurant, The Symphony of the State of Zacatecas, Mexico, is presenting a FREE concert at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, in Martin Hall. No tickets are required. The band will be performing exclusively at the Texas Wesleyan campus.

Considered one of the most important musical symphonies of Mexico, Banda Sinfónica de Zacatecas (Music Band of the State of Zacatecas) is a musical group from the Mexican state of Zacatecas. It was founded in 1957 by Octaviano Sigala and is currently directed by Salvador García Ortega, winner of the State Musical Merit Award "Candelario Huízar" in 2007.

The 85-member band performs every year during the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.
