‌The 250th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society recently convened in Boston. As part of the program, Terrence Neumann served as a panelist at the Postdoc to Faculty Workshop.

The workshop is designed to prepare postdoctoral researchers for faculty positions. Sessions focused on the preparation of faculty application packets, introducing interactive teaching pedagogies, and applying for extramural funding. Panelists served as a sounding board to aspiring members of the academe regarding various aspects of faculty life.

In addition to this workshop, Dr. Neumann presented his research on integrating project-based learning into the biochemistry curriculum. His poster described the integration of his research interest — dihydrofolate reductase — into biochemistry lectures and laboratories.

Dr. Neumann uses project-based learning due to its positive correlation to student comprehension and retention.
