The Second Annual Medievalists and Early Modernists of North Texas and Oklahoma (MEMNTO) Undergraduate Conference will be held at Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday, Feb. 17 next year. The MEMNTO conference is designed to offer undergraduate students in medieval and early modern studies, who are often at institutions with few medieval and early modern professors, the diversity of academic approaches to this fascinating period. The conference encourages interaction between students and faculty members in multiple disciplines and from multiple universities in North Texas and Oklahoma. The conference also includes faculty workshops.

This conference builds upon the success of last year’s inaugural MEMNTO Conference at Southern Methodist University. The organizers hope the MEMNTO Conference will continue as an annual event, initially rotating between Southern Methodist University, Texas Wesleyan University and the University of Dallas.

Proposals are invited for 10-15 minute presentations by advanced undergraduates on any topic relating to the medieval and early modern periods (for the purposes of this conference, 300 CE to 1650 CE). Presentations from any disciplinary perspective are welcome; pluri-disciplinary approaches are especially encouraged.

Potential presenters should be advanced undergraduate students as well as seek the advice and guidance of a professor at their home institution for their proposal and presenting their papers. Submit your proposal by Jan. 16, 2018.
