TXWES Ed.D. student named a 2019 FWISD Campus Teacher of the Year
Ed.D. student Sonjia Lynch was selected by her fellow teachers as one of Fort Worth ISD’s 2019 Campus Teachers of the Year for her work as a second-grade teacher at Carroll Peak Elementary School.
Lynch and more than 130 other FWISD teachers will be honored during a reception at Kimbell Art Museum in April.
“Having an educator selected as campus teacher of the year makes us very proud and feel fortunate to have Sonjia as part of our program,” Celia Scott, Ph.D. associate professor and director of the Doctor of Education program said. “The most outstanding characteristic Sonjia brings to our classrooms is joy and a love of learning. Sonjia works hard but does so in a way that brings happiness to those around her. You can't walk away from a conversation with Sonjia without smiling!”
As part of the nominee requirements, the Campus Teacher of the Year must be considered highly qualified, exceptionally dedicated and inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn.
