Research & Research Interests

Research 

Dr. Thiebaud's research focuses on understanding the age-related loss of muscle mass (also known as sarcopenia) and how to prevent and mitigate that loss with increasing age. 

Different projects he has worked on include investing how elastic band exercises improve strength and muscle mass in postmenopausal women, understanding the mechanisms of blood flow restriction and muscle hypertrophy and examining the effects of blood flow restriction on exercise-induced muscle damage. 

Research Interests

Other areas of interest include how resistance training influences changes in the cardiovascular system and how the cardiovascular system changes with aging.
