Placement Exams

What are Academic Placement Exams?

Texas Wesleyan University uses placement exams to check the academic skill level of entering students in subjects like math, English and reading. The results of these scores determine if more preparation is needed before taking college-level classes.

How to Schedule an Exam

Registering for a placement exam is easy – all you need to do is complete the form below. If you were asked to take more than one placement exam, you may want to register separately so you don’t have to take two exams back to back. Other items to know:

  • Placement exams must be taken at least one week before your orientation session
  • Check in at the Academic Success Center—inside the West Library
  • If the dates and times don’t work for your schedule, call or email us at 817-531-5825 or to set up a time or location that works for you
How to Prepare

Here's what you'll need on your test day:

  • A photo I.D.
  • Your Wesleyan ID number or Social Security number

Please note that bags, cell phones and notes are not allowed at your desk during the exams.
