Sharon Roberson-Jones ’96 is a returning member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. She currently resides in Carthage, TX with her husband Reginald.

Sharon is the founder and executive director of Excellent TEEN Choice. Her company focuses on encouraging teens to make excellent choices today for tomorrow’s success. They partner with schools and after-school programs teaching the importance of abstinence from sex, drugs and alcohol. During her time at Excellent TEEN Choice, she has received community service recognition from the State of Texas, the City of Arlington, Forest Hill Church Ministries, Mansfield Blazers, NACCP and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority (Zeta Delta Sigma Chapter).

Sharon’s relationship with Texas Wesleyan began because of her friends. She was initially unsure of whether Texas Wesleyan was going to be a good fit for her. However, after hearing stories from friends, she discovered that it was a place worth looking into and hasn’t looked back since. Sharon found herself drawn to the classes and the faculty during her time at Texas Wesleyan. One of her favorite classes was Dr. Rummel’s Western Hemisphere class, which provided its students with new perspectives on the world.

Texas Wesleyan definitely played a role in Sharon’s career. The University provided her with critical thinking skills, which have helped her to engage with various schools and groups in her job and adjust to the different needs of those individuals. In her classes at TXWES, Sharon learned to consider things thoroughly and she applies that in various ways at work from making corporate decisions to creating professional marketing and advertising materials.

Sharon supports the University through her service on the alumni board and volunteer opportunities, and she remains a consistent donor of TXWES.
