The Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations welcomes two new staff members – Martha Earngey ’77 as the new director of annual giving and Julie Porter as the grants development specialist.

New director of annual giving - Martha Earngey '77Martha brings several years of fundraising experience and knowledge. She most recently served as the community development manager at the Arthritis Foundation where she was responsible for local fundraising events, community education and outreach.

Martha’s responsibilities will include fundraising for the Wesleyan Fund through mailings, personal visits and events. She will also manage the Faculty and Staff Campaign, Brick Campaign, President’s Council and phonathon program. Martha will work closely with Gina Phillips ’97 MS ’07, director of development & alumni relations, on raising the alumni giving percentage and other various appeals and projects.

Julie most recently served as corporate grants manager at KERA, where she focused on securing corporate funding for TV and radio operations. Prior to that, she was central to a three-year, $60 million capital campaign at the Dallas Arboretum to fund the Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden.

At Tarrant County Hospital District-JPS, she helped to secure funding for a new patient tower erected in 2008. At Wesleyan, she will focus on obtaining foundation funding, hoping to secure larger gifts from our existing loyal donors, while finding new funding sources in the community.

The Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations is excited to add Martha and Julie to their team. They are both sure to bring something new and exciting to these positions.

Martha can be contacted at 817-531-5819 or maearngey@txwes.edu and Julie’s contact information is 817-531-7543 or jcporter@txwes.edu.
