Texas Wesleyan University is pleased to announce Ann Davis has joined the Marketing and Communications team as the new strategic communications manager.
"We're very excited to have Ann join our team," Darren White, director of marketing and communications, said. "Ann brings vast knowledge of media relations strategy and significant experience in the field of communications to the university, and we’re looking forward to how her leadership, enthusiasm and critical thinking skills will support our vision for the department and university."
In her role, Davis will work with the department to further develop and support the University's communication strategy and vision, which includes strengthening the University’s position in the community through media relations outreach and public relations efforts. Davis will support Texas Wesleyan’s "Smaller. Smarter." message and University Strategic Plan through strategic communication planning, while also writing, sourcing and overseeing content development for the university’s communication channels to further develop the university’s brand.
Before joining Texas Wesleyan, Davis served as marketing and public relations strategist for QMobius, Inc., a national branding, marketing and communications firm headquartered in Dallas, where she led and implemented media relations campaigns for various clients. This included strategic planning, integration with marketing and social media initiatives, creating and executing media events, media training, crisis communications and pitching and placing stories with local and national media (including coverage in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, The Dallas Morning News, USA Today, The New York Times, Washington Post and Los Angeles Times.)
Prior to QMobius, Davis worked in the public relations department at Pier 1 Imports corporate office in Fort Worth, where she executed national media relations and product placement opportunities with television and film, as well as media relations support for stores and spokespeople.
Davis, a Fort Worth native, has a bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and currently resides in Fort Worth.
