Texas Wesleyan University has selected Darren White as its new Director of Marketing & Communications.
“Darren has done great work across departments to unify the University message,” John Veilleux, vice president of marketing & communications, said. “I have full confidence that he will bring his enthusiasm and energy for the University into his new role.”
As director, White will work with the University’s marketing & communications team to develop integrated marketing tactics that strengthen Texas Wesleyan’s intentionally small message, fulfill the University’s Strategic Plan and continue to raise Texas Wesleyan’s visibility in Dallas-Fort Worth.
White, a graduate of Texas Christian University’s Schieffer School of Journalism, previously served as Texas Wesleyan’s web content specialist and communications specialist.
During his time at the university, he has been a part of many strategic marketing & communications initiatives, including designing and implementing the university’s message strategy, developing marketing communications for the Office of Admissions, providing creative direction for Texas Wesleyan’s “Smaller. Smarter.” advertising campaign, and designing and implementing graduate admissions Web pages and marketing communications. He has expertise in Web content, multimedia, public and media relations, video and email communications.
Before joining Texas Wesleyan University’s staff in 2009, White served as managing editor of Parker County Today and Hood & Somervell Today, two monthly regional magazines covering the emerging regions of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. As a freelance writer, his feature articles have been featured in Texas Music, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and TCU Magazine. In 2011, he edited Billy Bob’s: A Texas Legend, commemorating 30 years of the legendary honky-tonk.
White, a Fort Worth resident, is currently pursuing a Master’s of Business Administration at Texas Wesleyan University.
