Speak Spanish?

If you speak Spanish and you’re a transfer student, you may qualify for the EC-6 bilingual education program and additional scholarships.

Teach the next generation of bilingual students

With your bilingual elementary education degree from TXWES, you'll be prepared to positively impact the lives of dual-language learners. You'll learn more than teaching techniques and lesson planning — you'll open doors to greater educational and career opportunities.

Advantages to a bilingual education degree

Bilingual teachers are in high demand statewide, in big cities and small towns. Some school districts even award bilingual teachers additional money, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 per year.

Bilingual education program scholarships

Transfer students are automatically eligible for up to $20,000 in university scholarships depending on their transfer GPA. See what transfer scholarship you qualify for below:

Transfer scholarship award amounts are determined by the 2023-2024 tuition rate.

To qualify, you'll need to meet the admission requirements for the university and apply to the education program as an EC-6 bilingual education major. Don't wait to apply. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
