About the Faculty Course Design Institute

Who? Full-time and adjunct faculty who want to design or transform a Fall 2017 course. Space is limited to 12 faculty participants. 

What? The four-day Course Design Institute is hosted by the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. Participants will leave with approximately 85% of a completed syllabus that includes course- and unit-level outcomes, instructions and a rubric for at least one major assessment, and other elements as outlined in the Syllabus Rubric created by the University of Virginia’s Teaching Resource Center.

When? Monday, May 22 through Thursday, May 25 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The registration deadline is Monday, May 15.

What else? The CETL will provide coffee and light refreshments for breakfast, as well as a catered lunch each day. As a token of appreciation for their dedication to teaching excellence, participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card at the conclusion of the Institute.
