Evidenced-based practices in teaching and learning: Dynamic lectures 2/21
Join us for the first of three virtual discussion groups that we’ll host in Blackboard Collaborate during the Spring of 2018.
This month, participants will discuss the lecture, which is a strategy well-suited to sharing knowledge with students who are new to a particular topic or field of study (i.e., in courses heavy on content coverage). Our pre-discussion “reading” will be a recording of a workshop led by Dr. Christine Harrington, who recently published a book titled, "Dynamic Lecturing."
During the discussion, you and your colleagues will discuss questions such as the following:
- Which of the strategies are you most likely to use and why
- What other strategies you’ve used to ensure students are critically engaged during lectures
- Roadblocks to implementing micro-activities in the lecture
Join us Feb. 21 individually or as a department to contribute to the dialogue!
