Kate joined Texas Wesleyan as an adjunct professor of French in 2015. She joined the CETL Team as an instructional designer in October 2019. During her time as an adjunct, she taught students from Schreiner, Texas Lutheran and Lubbock Christian in both synchronous and online environments as part of the Texas Learning Consortium. She also served as the TLC Pedagogy Team Lead for three years. She earned her degrees at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and the Université Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers, France. Kate taught for over 20 years in the Highland Park and Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISDs and at two local homeschool co-ops. She served as foreign language department chair at L.D. Bell High School for five years.

Kate and her husband, David, co-own and operate Cutting Edge Fencing Center in North Richland Hills. Together they have designed and implemented a nationally-recognized program for training recreational and competitive sabre fencers. Kate is an active competitor and coach, spending most weekends in convention centers and gyms around the country at fencing events. She enjoys travel, visiting coffee shops and reading on the couch with her cats, Sasha and Ivan.
