Texas Health Resources (THR) is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer including colon cancer. Colorectal cancer remains the second most common cancer in the United States, yet it is highly preventable and highly treatable if detected early. This type of cancer starts as a small growth, called a polyp, long before symptoms appear.
We are excited to announce that THR will be onsite providing colon cancer education via MARGE (Mobile Awareness Resource Gastrointestinal Exhibit) their giant inflatable walk-through colon. MARGE features various stages of disease with explanations of the following: normal colon tissue, Crohn’s disease, polyps, malignant polyps, colon cancer and advanced colon cancer.
Let’s be honest. Talking about cancer is never easy and some might say talking about your colon health is downright uncomfortable. We hope that by having MARGE take part in our fair, you will find this interactive approach to cancer education not only interesting but beneficial. The best protection is early detection!
