Attend the intellectual disability awareness event 'How Do We Do It?' March 22
As part of Texas Wesleyan University’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan, Disability Services will be celebrating Intellectual Disability Awareness Month from noon to 1:30 p.m. on March 22, in the Library Orientation Room.
For this event, Disability Services will demonstrate software and hardware available for accommodations. We will begin with a PowerPoint presentation detailing the plans for the “Social Inclusion Model,” out of Washington DC, and how it will help our campus to not only be inclusive academically, but socially as well. We will then demonstrate various resources available for accommodations.
By demonstrating “How We Do It,” students and faculty will learn about resources for students with disabilities such as...
- Sonocent Audio Note-taking software
- LearningAlly
- AHEAD
- OpenDyslexic.org
- Dragon NaturallySpeaking
Applications for disability accommodations will also be available for students wishing to sign up for our services. We hope to see you there.
