ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
College students needed who desire to mentor and train high school students and assist them in pre-collegiate services so that they are prepared to attend college. College students of any classification, with a minimum GPA of 2.75; prefer first generation college students. All applicants are required to be in good standing, in accordance with Texas Wesleyan’s Registrar’s Office.
Training is providing upon hiring.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Earned college credit hours and/or experience working in an educational setting preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have reliable transportation
Required to go through a background check with Fort Worth ISD, Castleberry ISD, and Crowley ISD.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
