David Hunter, Ph.D., general manager and CIO of Dynamic Campus, has been named interim CIO of Dynamic Campus at Texas Wesleyan. Dynamic Campus is a third-party company that specializes in providing IT services to small universities. Texas Wesleyan announced May 23 that IT services would be contracted to Dynamic Campus.
In his role, Hunter draws on more than 23 years of high tech and information technology experience as well as 10 years of higher education experience. Hunter leverages his background in engineering, technology, higher education and customer service to provide extraordinary value and leadership to Dynamic Campus clients.
Hunter is responsible for mentoring and supporting Dynamic Campus CIOs and other IT leaders at multiple partner institutions. His efforts help foster the creation of a collaborative culture and high performing IT teams. His experience includes serving as CIO at College of Western Idaho and a technology leader at Brown Mackie College. By building relationships with senior leaders at partner institutions, Hunter is a trusted technical advisor who drives innovation while leveraging continuous improvement opportunities resulting in increased efficiency and achieving universities’ strategic goals.
At Texas Wesleyan, Hunter will lead the transition team as Dynamic Campus assesses the university’s IT needs and works to appoint a full-time CIO for Dynamic Campus at Texas Wesleyan.
Hunter holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University where he researched and published on intelligent networks. In addition to College of Western Idaho and Brown Mackie College, Hunter has served at Texas Southmost College and Madonna University.
