Every year, the Help Desk Institute (HDI) identifies and honors the industry's top support analysts and desktop technicians from the DFW Chapter. Those nominated get the opportunity to compete against other members of the chapter. Awards are given based on customer service, team commitment, knowledge sharing, leadership and technical aptitude. Once again, Texas Wesleyan's Office of Information Technology (IT) represented well at the HDI competition.
On Friday, Dec 9, technicians Brandon Flowers, Abbey Wilson, Nikola Jovicic and Kenneth Flowers took the stage as HDI nominees. Wilson and K. Flowers were both nominated for the desktop technician of the year. B. Flowers and Jovicic were nominated in the category of support analyst of the year.
Wilson was announced as the desktop technician of the year for the DFW chapter. After receiving the chapter award, Abbey went on to compete at the regional level. Wilson won regionals along with five other technicians in the U.S.
She is headed to Washington DC to compete for National Desktop Technician of the Year Award. This is the second year that Texas Wesleyan has participated in the competition and the IT department is proud to have Wilson compete at the national level. Join us in congratulating Wilson on her incredible accomplishment!
