The Office of Information Technology has installed a new anti-virus tool

05.26.2017 | By: Texas Wesleyan University

In response to the recent viruses “Wannacry” and others, we have installed a new state of the art anti-virus tool, “CrowdStrike.”  We now need to remove "Kaspersky," the previous University anti-virus.

What does this mean for faculty and staff?

On the evening of June 7, we will force a reboot of all computers on our network. To prepare for that, please DO NOT shutdown your computer before you leave work and DO save all your work. If you have a computer that will not be connected on the morning of June 8, you will have a forced update and reboot the next time you connect to the network. The reboot will happen at approximately 10 p.m. in the evening.

If you have any questions, please call the Service Desk at 817-531-4428.
