Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is the standard offering for University telephone service. It leverages the University's high-performance network and high availability server infrastructure to provide advanced features compared to that of traditional telephone services

Single Number Reach (aka Mobility) - Allows callers to reach you at your desk phone and mobile phone with one telephone number. Incoming calls will ring at both your desk phone and mobile phone.

Mobility also allows you to transition an active call between your desk phone and mobile phone without losing connection or interrupting the conversation.

Traditional analog telephone service is available in specific cases such as alarm systems, elevator emergency call boxes and credit card terminals. Procurement and maintenance of the end-point devices are the responsibility of the requesting entity.

Voicemail

A messaging service providing Texas Wesleyan employees a convenient way of managing voice recorded messages left by callers.

Personalized Greetings- Record up to 6 custom greetings. Greeting types include: Standard Greeting, Busy Greeting, Closed Greeting, Holiday Greeting, Internal Greeting (heard by campus employees only), Alternate Greeting (can be customized to start and end on specific date/time)
MWI- A Message Waiting Indicator on your University telephone alerts you when you have a message
Self-Service Portal- Manage your voice messages, personal greetings, PIN, and other features from a web browser (Must be on the University network or Uconnect VPN to access this feature)
Message Processing- Save, Delete, Forward, Reply, Repeat, Rewind, Fast Forward, Pause, Skip, control playback speed, search, assign message priority level, schedule future delivery
Listen to your calendar appointments - Integration with your University Office 365 calendar provides the ability for your calendar appointments to be spoken to you over the phone when you log in to your voicemail account.
Instant Messaging

Instant Messaging(IM) allows Texas Wesleyan employees to have real-time, text-based conversations with colleagues privately or in a group session.

Cisco Jabber - A software application used to deliver the Instant Messaging and collaboration features listed below. It is available for computer workstations and mobile platforms, such as Apple and Android devices.

IM (chat) - Have real-time, text-based conversations in one-on-one or group sessions.
Presence - A feature indicating the real-time availability status of you and your colleagues. Your Presence status automatically indicates if you are in a meeting, away from your desk, on a phone call, or available to chat.
Voice and Video Calling - Make voice calls directly from your Jabber client. Video calls are supported with the use of a webcam.
Employee Lookup - Use Jabber's integrated lookup service to quickly find your colleagues to place a call or initiate an instant message.
File Transfer - Send files instantly to participants.
Screen Capture & Screen Share - Take and send instant screenshots or share your screen live with participants.
Conversation History - View previous instant message conversations.
Call History - View a list of call you previously placed or received.
Visual Voicemail - Manage your voicemail messages from Jabber using the visual interface.
