Slabach appoints task force to explore football, women's lacrosse programs

President Frederick G. Slabach announced the creation of the Presidential Task Force on Athletic Programs to discuss the possible addition of football and women’s lacrosse programs at Texas Wesleyan.

The task force is composed of faculty, staff, students and members of the Board of Trustees. The purpose of the task force is to provide a report that will identify and consider the ramifications of adding these two programs. This report will then be presented to the Board of Trustees for further consideration.

Two listening sessions scheduled

A part of the report will include consultations with faculty, staff and students of the University through a series of listening sessions.

The listening sessions are scheduled from 12:15-1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, and Thursday, Nov. 12, in the Bragan Fellowship Hall of Polytechnic United Methodist Church. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend.  

Members of the task force are:

Steven Daniell, Chair, Pam Rast, Abee Borghee, Jerry Wood, Doug Compton, Dennis Hall, Jon Crook, Sinan Yldrim, Trisha Anderson and Michelle Payne. The task force will be aided by Steve Trachier, athletic director.
