The weekend of October 18-20, Texas Wesleyan resident assistants attended the Southwestern Association of College and University Housing Officers (SWACUHO) Resident Assistant conference in San Antonio with more than 413 RAs from across the states of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Resident Assistants attended programs and sessions to help them become better at their jobs, learning about topics such as

  • Building communities
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Solving difficult student issues
  • improving programs in their hall and floor
  • Encouraging diversity and inclusiveness

Dalton Lovell and Rayneta Dotson presented "The Starbucks Experience: 5 Principles for Turning Ordinary into Extraordinary" to a standing-room-only crowd.

Jeremy Hunt, Kristi Taylor and Shelese Moaning presented "Check the Web: Creating a web based resource for Texas Wesleyan Resident Assistants."

This is the first time for Texas Wesleyan RAs to present at the conference and both program sessions received excellent feedback.
