Texas Wesleyan history majors Jodie Holmes and Jeanne Lindsay were awarded book scholarships for the upcoming academic year from two National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) chapters: the NSDAR Mary Isham Keith Chapter and NSDAR Six Flags Chapter.

Jodie was presented with the award at the meeting of the Mary Isham Keith Chapter, and Jeanne received the award at the Six Flags Chapter meeting held at the Ridglea Country Club.  The two meetings were held on Saturday, May 4. Both students are history majors who plan to teach on the secondary level.

Upon accepting her award from the Six Flags Chapter, Jeanne spoke of the importance of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in her own genealogical research.  Since members of NSDAR are obliged to trace their lineage to an ancestor who helped contribute to securing the independence of the US, many are experts in genealogy.  There is also have an extensive database on their website, https://www.dar.org/.

These two generous Fort Worth NSDAR chapters give scholarships in the spring to outstanding female history students.
