Arts and Sciences Hosts Pumpkin Carving Contest
On Tuesday, Oct. 26 in the very scary setting of Bragan Hall, the School of Arts and Sciences hosted a Pumpkin Carving Contest for students, faculty and staff. 110 participants in teams displayed a diversity of artistically terrifying talents in their carving of 36 pumpkins.
Prizes in the form of pizza parties were offered to the best ASE and best Program/Major teams. There was also an award for the best Faculty/Staff entry. The chilling task of judging the ghastly gourds occurred in the early, foggy hours of Wednesday, falling to President Fred Slabach and Dean of Students, Jill Gerloff. The following winners were named:
1st Place ASE Section: Dr. Childs, ASE-1111-07 and ASE-1111-09
1st Place Major: Dr. Dean, Mass Communication
1st Faculty/Staff: Tamika Johnson
Most Original Pumpkin: Dr. Maeer and Dr. Ohan
Thanks to all the students, faculty and staff who participated and judged!
