Students and Staff at the TXWES booth in downtown Fort Worth for the Michelada Festival.

The Michelada Festival is back and bigger than ever! On Sunday, October 12, downtown Fort Worth will come alive with vibrant music, delicious food, and the unmistakable energy of community celebration. From 12:00 to 8:00 p.m., Main Street and Sundance Square will be transformed into a lively hub of Hispanic heritage, culture and—of course—micheladas!

Texas Wesleyan University is proud to once again be part of this incredible event, hosted by Connect Respect, a nonprofit founded by TXWES alumna Patricia Castillo. The festival not only celebrates Hispanic culture but also supports scholarships through the Texas Wesleyan Alumni Association and the Mexican American College Education Fund (MACE).

Last year, TXWES made a splash with its custom cornhole board, giveaways of Mexican candy, university swag and a booth buzzing with faculty, students, alumni and staff engaging with thousands of festivalgoers. This year promises even more excitement—and we need your help to make it happen! You can sign up by adding your name here: Michelada Festival 2025 RAMily Roster

Volunteer Opportunities

We have most of the day covered, but we’re still looking for:

  • Drop-off Volunteer for Saturday, Oct. 11 after 11:00 a.m.
Help us setup for the festival picking up and dropping off the tent, tent weights and other materials at the booth site.
  • Booth Volunteers for the 6:00–8:00 p.m. shift
Help us close out the festival strong by engaging with attendees, handing out swag, and representing TXWES with pride.
  • Tent Pickup Volunteer
We need one volunteer to collect the TXWES tent after the event and return it to campus at Texas Wesleyan University, if possible, it can be someone from the 6-8 p.m. shift.
Whether you're a student, alum, staff member, or friend of the university, this is a great opportunity to connect with the community, support a meaningful cause, and have a blast doing it.

Ready to Volunteer?

If you’re available for either of these roles, please sign up on the Michelada Festival 2025 RAMily Roster. For further information please reach out to Amy Bell [abell@txwes.edu].
