Texas Wesleyan recently hosted law school students from Tecnologico de Monterrey, a private, nonsectarian and coeducational multi-campus university based in Monterrey, Mexico.
For the past two years, the visit has included a tour of Texas Wesleyan where the law school students meet with faculty and students and participate in criminal justice classes. Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice Cary Adkinson coordinated this year’s visit. The visit included lunch at Dora’s where students were joined by Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice Eddy Lynton, Ph.D., and Texas Wesleyan Criminal Justice major and Men’s Soccer Team player Luis Pumarejo. The visit concluded after professor Adkinson’s Corrections and Community Supervision class where the Tecnologico de Monterrey law students enjoyed interacting with the class.
Similar to a study abroad, the law school students visit Fort Worth where they meet with local judges, attorneys, law enforcement officers. They tour the court and police academy, as well as, visit many local area sites, including Six Flags, the Stockyards, and Fort Worth’s many fine eateries.
