The Department of Music at Texas Wesleyan University presents an OperaTXWES performance of opera scenes. The evening will feature scenes from shows new and old, ranging from Mozart's The Magic Flute to newer works such as Moore's The Ballad of Baby Doe, Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, and even modern musical hits like Guys and Dolls and Les Miserables.
The cast is comprised of Wesleyan music majors ranging from freshmen to seniors, and the scenes reflect a multitude of styles and emotions. JuYeon Julia Lee provides the orchestration on our remarkable Steinway piano as Julie McCoy directs the production, assisted by Jennifer Carr.
The Department of Music and its students invite you to experience an evening of beautiful music and lots of fun as they toast to opera and the works inspired by it. Admission is free.
