The Texas Wesleyan University Wind Symphony presents Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue on Jan. 25, 2022, at 7:30 p.m., featuring pianist Boaz Sharon and DFW musicians, as well as Texas Wesleyan faculty, students and alumni. This luscious symphonic work is presented as it was originally written and conceived by Gershwin, as a wind symphony piece, and will be conducted by Slade Denman, the Department of Music's Wind Ensemble director and head of instrumental music studies.
The first half of the concert will be performed by Boaz Sharon on the department's Steinway Model D and will feature music of Fats Waller, James P. Johnson and Leonard Bernstein. Be sure to join us either by livestream on Facebook or in person for this rhapsodic event!
The concert will take place in Nicholas Martin Hall and is free and open to the public. Masks and social distancing are required.
