Help victims in the aftermath of sexual assault through campus clothing drive

03.18.2015 | By:

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Texas Wesleyan community is collecting new clothes for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.

In the aftermath of the trauma of sexual assault and domestic violence, victims who report their assaults to hospitals or legal authorities are often required to submit their clothes for evidence. In addition, during assaults, victims’ clothes can be torn, bloodied and/or dirtied.

Victims may also feel the need to psychologically distance themselves from the assault by removing the clothes they were wearing. The Texas Wesleyan Sexual Assault Awareness Month Clothing Drive is a great opportunity to support such a worthy cause by donating new clothes to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Plain T-shirts, sweatpants and underwear are all welcomed. Please keep an eye out for fliers and donation boxes located across campus and in the residence halls.

Thanks for your donation and for helping make Texas Wesleyan a model campus for sexual awareness and safety.
