TEXAS WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY NAMES NEW LAN DIRECTORS OF ACADEMICS

FORT WORTH, Texas – Texas Wesleyan University announced the appointment of Meagan
Pride and Krystle Marberry as the Directors of Academics for the Leadership Academy
Network (LAN). Established in 2019, LAN is an innovative partnership between Texas
Wesleyan University and Fort Worth ISD to sustain academic success at six public school
campuses within the district.

In their new roles, Pride and Marberry will oversee all facets of curriculum, instruction, and
academic enrichment initiatives at the Leadership Academies at Como Elementary, John T.
White Elementary, Maude I. Logan Elementary, Mitchell Boulevard Elementary, Leonard
Middle, and Forest Oak Middle schools.

Pride and Marberry join the LAN leadership team following their successful tenures
supporting the network in campus-based administration roles.

“We are excited for Meagan and Krystle to join the Texas Wesleyan LAN leadership team,”
said Dr. Whitney Clark, LAN Chief Network Officer. “Their steadfast commitment to student
growth and achievement is evident in all that they do in support of our schools. Meagan
and Krystle have strong backgrounds in instructional leadership and their expertise will be
an asset for the Network as we continue to build strong academic foundations for all
students.”

Prior to joining the LAN Leadership Team, Pride served as the Dean of Literacy for LAN’s
four elementary school campuses. She brings more than 18 years of experience to her new
role as Director of Academics, having served as a teacher, curriculum and instructional
specialist, and assistant principal. She holds a master’s degree in education
administration and a master’s degree in reading from Texas Wesleyan University (’10).
Marberry brings more than 17 years of experience to her new role as Director of Academics
and holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at
Arlington and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Concordia. A seasoned
educator, she has served FWISD students and schools as a teaching assistant, teacher,
data analyst, instructional specialist, assistant principal, and most recently as the LAN
Dean of Mathematics.

The Leadership Academy Network is an innovative partnership between FWISD and TXWES
University, which operates under the provisions of Texas Senate Bill 1882 (SB 1882), and is
designed to continue improving learning outcomes at the district’s six PK-8 Leadership
Academies: Como Elementary, John T. White Elementary, Maude I. Logan Elementary,
Mitchell Boulevard Elementary, Leonard Middle, and Forest Oak Middle. Guided by a
mission to accelerate student achievement through service and a relentless pursuit of
excellence, LAN provides high-quality education and instruction that meets the learning
needs of all scholars.
