2017 UCD: Presentations, T-shirts and food...Oh my!
This year's University College Day (UCD) theme is Diversity: Building Success for a Touchdown. and the day is going to be one you don't want to miss. Just in case you were thinking of not coming, we've come up with a few reasons you may want to reconsider.
1. The Presentations
Students from every discipline will make presentations regarding their research and academic interests, and posters will be on display documenting student works in many areas on campus. The poster sessions are available for viewing all day. Some presentations you can look forward to are:
- The Non-Traditional Student: Wife, Mother, Student and Achieving the Goal
- Comic Books and Stigma
- How to NOT be a Broke College Student
- Using Science to Brew Better Beer

2. Two-part keynote Presentation
The two-part keynote presentation features a panel discussion with a group of successful professionals moderated by Texas Wesleyan Head Football Coach Joe Prud'homme. Students are encouraged to submit questions to the panel members. The feature presentation titled "The Influence of Character" will be presented by former Dallas Cowboy defensive back, Everson Walls. Find out more about the panel members here.
3. Free T-shirts
That's right! Be one of the first 50 people to come to the Keynote Presentation at 10:30 a.m. in Martin Hall and you'll receive a ticket for a free T-shirt. Are you presenting? You automatically get a t-shirt ticket. T-shirts can be picked up at Ram Jam.
4. Free Food
Ram Jam is happening from 12-2 p.m. on the Mall and this year is shaping up to be quite the tailgate. Lunch is free to all who attend. Don't miss the food, games and live music.
5. "Tickling Giants" Movie Screening
After the presentations end, there will be a screening of "Tickling Giants" at 6 p.m. in STC. Did we mention free admission, free popcorn and free cotton candy? Register for tickets at here.
See you there!
