Fill out the FAFSA

The 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open! This means that students seeking financial aid for the upcoming academic year can begin the application process. Completing the FAFSA is crucial for Texas Wesleyan students, as it opens doors to a variety of financial aid opportunities.

Why is the FAFSA Important?

The FAFSA is the primary gateway to federal student aid, including grants, work-study programs and loans. By completing the FAFSA, Texas Wesleyan students can potentially receive funds to help cover tuition, fees, room and board and other educational expenses.

Key Benefits of Completing the FAFSA:

  • Grants: Grants are a form of financial aid that does not need to be repaid. The FAFSA determines your eligibility for federal grants like the Pell Grant.
  • Work-Study: Work-study programs allow students to earn money while attending school through part-time jobs on campus or in the community.
  • Federal Student Loans: FAFSA completion is necessary to apply for federal student loans, which can provide additional funds to cover educational costs.

How to Apply:

  1. Create a FSA ID: You'll need an FSA ID to access your FAFSA application and other federal student aid services.
  2. Gather Required Information: Have your Social Security number, driver's license number (if applicable), and tax information ready. If you’re filing as a dependent, you’ll need your parent(s) information, too.
  3. Complete the FAFSA: Fill out the FAFSA online at fafsa.gov. Be sure to list Texas Wesleyan as one of the schools you're considering. Our code is 003645.

Important Deadlines:

  • Priority Deadline for Texas Wesleyan: While the federal deadline for the FAFSA is June 30, 2026, Texas Wesleyan encourages students to submit their applications as early as possible to ensure timely processing of financial aid awards.
  • State and Institutional Deadlines: Be aware of any additional deadlines for state or institutional aid programs.

Don’t qualify for the FAFSA? Texas residents can complete the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)

By completing the FAFSA, Texas Wesleyan students can maximize their financial aid opportunities and make their college education more affordable. Don't miss out on this important step toward your academic success!
