Choice, Challenges and Change: Education and Public Policy

Texas Wesleyan’s and programs are hosting a special event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in the Baker Building for the leaders in the education field.
The political landscape of the 84th Texas Legislature could result in dramatic shifts in K-12 public policy. Legislation in the areas of school choice, curriculum, accountability, testing and early childhood education, are focal points in the education agenda following a February 2014 ruling that declared the Texas school finance system in violation of the Texas Constitution.
Please join School of Education professors, Ken Helvey, William Newton and Joe Dryden for an in-depth presentation of these important issues and the implications for Texas K-12 education.
Limited to only 25 attendees, this will serve as an important presentation for education leaders and those considering an advanced degrees/certification with Texas Wesleyan University.
Wine and cheese will be served. RSVP at graduate@txwes.edu or 817-531-4390.
