The results are in from this year’s Wesleyan Fund campaign and you, our generous Texas Wesleyan alumni, friends, faculty and staff, came through.
During the 2018-19 academic year, the Wesleyan Fund received more than $630,000 in gifts, exceeding its $600,000 goal.
“I’m extremely proud of the support Texas Wesleyan alumni, friends, faculty and staff show our students,” President Frederick G. Slabach said. “Gifts to the Wesleyan Fund help Texas Wesleyan students persist to graduation and thrive both inside and outside the classroom. On behalf of Texas Wesleyan, thank you to all our donors, to Dr. Leone for his commitment, and to the Advancement team on a job well done.”
This year’s Wesleyan Fund campaign made even more of an impact thanks to The Leone Match. For every new or increased gift to the Wesleyan Fund, George F. Leone ’49 pledged a 1-to-1 matching gift, up to $100,000.
The Leone Match led to more than 400 new donors, who gave more than $96,000. More than 160 existing donors also increased their gifts by more than $167,000 compared to last year.
“Gifts to the Wesleyan Fund impact the lives of our students by funding institutional scholarships, strengthening academic programs and increasing alumni participation in giving. Every gift, small or large, makes a difference in the lives of our current and future students,” Jim Lewis, vice president for university advancement, said. “Thank you to each and every one of you who supports Texas Wesleyan by giving to the Wesleyan Fund.”
