Neph Rivera joins TXWES as university communications specialist

Neph Rivera has joined the Office of Marketing and Communications at Texas Wesleyan University as the new university communications specialist. In his role, Neph will work with local and national media outlets to tell the stories of the talented students and faculty on campus.
In addition to media relations, he will oversee the news & events section of the university website, train faculty and staff on how to use T4 (the university’s content management system), and contribute to promoting the university through social media.
“Neph’s background in local TV news makes him ideal for his role,” Ann Davis, senior director of communications, said. “His expertise will help shed light on the special students and faculty that walk our campus every day. Neph will make a great addition to our team.”
Rivera received his bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University in 2012. Since then, he has produced local television news broadcasts across the country, including most recently right here in North Texas at KTVT/CBS 11. He has helped cover such major stories as the abdication of Pope Benedict XVI in 2013, the 20th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing in 2015, and Hurricane Harvey’s landfall in southeast Texas in 2017.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the TXWES Marketing team,” Rivera said. “There are so many stories right in front of us that deserve to be told and I’m honored to play a role in doing just that.”
When he’s not at work, Neph enjoys going on runs to explore the streets of Fort Worth, watching his beloved Yankees, and traveling with his wife, Stephanie.
