Moritz Fieldhouse
Construction of the Moritz Fieldhouse is underway, with completion slated for summer 2025. The fieldhouse will feature a home team locker room, four flexible locker rooms for visiting teams and other athletic programs, coaches' offices, a team meeting room, laundry facilities and a training room. The building's design incorporates future expansion plans, ensuring that essential infrastructure is in place to accommodate growth.
Parking Lots Near the Fieldhouse
Parking lots along the west side of the Baker-Martin House and north side of Lou's Place are undergoing renovations. The north side lot, scheduled for completion in spring 2025, will double its capacity and improve accessibility from Avenue D and Avenue C. The lot will also be ADA-compliant.
Lockers in the Sid Richardson Center
The 65 football lockers currently housed in the Sid Richardson Center will be relocated to the new fieldhouse, along with additional lockers to accommodate the larger space. The facilities department is working to provide replacement lockers for other programs that utilize the Sid Richardson Center.
Phase 4 of the Stadium
University President Emily Messer, in collaboration with facilities and advancement teams, is working to finalize the plans, budget and fundraising efforts for the fourth and final phase of the Karen Cramer Athletic Stadium. This phase will include the construction of grandstands, concession stands, a press box and other amenities.
Two third-floor science labs in the McFadden Science Center have undergone significant renovations, thanks to grant and donation funding. Along with the installation of new fume hoods and improved fume direction systems, the center has also received a new roof to enhance its overall functionality and energy efficiency.
One lab was completed before the start of the fall semester, and now offers enhanced storage, upgraded fume hoods, new hardware, flooring and ceilings. It also features improved safety measures, such as eye wash stations and chemical showers.
The second lab required additional mechanical engineering work to ensure proper fume extraction. The necessary exhaust fan motors are expected to be installed in late December, allowing the lab to be ready for use by faculty and students in the spring semester.
