Mitchell-Reed Community of Learners: Re-Thinking Religion, Science and Politics
Join Eunice and James L. West Library for our last Mitchell Reed presentation of Fall 2016.
Our presenter will be Dr. Chad Pevateaux and his topic is Re-Thinking Religion, Science and Politics: How Mystical Eco-Ethics May Help Save the World (and Us)
Come hear Dr. Pevateaux discuss his research on the history of mysticism and the current "spiritual but not religious" movements. Philosophically, his work rethinks agency in relation to affectivity and in collaboration with an emergent cosmos to help us be more just in our inter-relationships with others – whether other humans, other nonhuman animals, ecosystems, religions or whatever may come.
Remember to Bring Your Own Lunch (BYOL) and refreshments will be provided by the Provost's office.
