Shortly after midnight, a fire was reported at the Dillow House, located at 3216 E. Rosedale St. It took 90 minutes to extinguish the flames. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
“When I first received the call, my immediate thought went to the safety of the firefighters, nearby residents, and the university community,” John Veilleux, vice president of marketing and communications, said. “We are very grateful that no one was injured and that no nearby residences were impacted by the fire.”
The University is taking steps to fence the property to ensure the immediate safety of the community. Additionally, the university is consulting the necessary experts to take expeditious measures to ensure the ongoing safety of the community.
