TXWES alumni give back to the community at Homecoming

Attending a university is about so much more than simply receiving a quality education — it’s also about expanding your worldview and feeling empowered to give back with your talents and abilities, when possible. Over the years, Texas Wesleyan has garnered a reputation of generosity in Fort Worth and beyond through the selfless efforts of our students and alumni. This was demonstrated yet again as TXWES alumni rallied together during Homecoming Weekend for a service project that would benefit children and teens in the Poly community.

The Homecoming service project was created after several alumni reached out and expressed an interest in giving back to their campus community in a new way. The resulting idea was to help bring some extra fun and joy to the local Boys and Girls Club, ACH Child and Family Services and Poly High School by providing 300 goodie bags to the kids that they each serve. Alumni purchased and contributed plenty of cool toys, pens, pencils, snacks and much more to fill the bags.

ACH Child and Family Services reached out to thank the RAMily on Instagram for their efforts, saying: “We are sincerely grateful for the generous support from Texas Wesleyan! They donated goodie bags with uplifting words for children and families in our care. Thank you!”

Administrators at both Poly High School and the Boys and Girls Club expressed their delight and excitement to pass the treats out to the young people that they each serve.

The RAMily is truly made up of changemakers, and our university would not be the same without your generosity and desire to make a positive impact on our community and beyond. Thank you for making this Homecoming Service project a big success!
