Bolat is one of the most famous Turkish artists in the U.S. He has released four CDs, and composed songs for the PBS DocumentaryMohammed: Legacy of a Prophet and George Lucas’TV series Young Indiana Jones. Bolat also co-wrote a Turkish Sufi poetry book titled Quarreling with God: Mystic Rebel Sufi Poems of the Dervishes of Turkey.

The entertainment will also include Bolat demonstrating the mystical aspect of the Muslim faith community, which includes a meditational dance – known by many as the dance of Whirling Dervishes.

“This is an opportunity for students to be enriched by a very unique part of religious and social culture,” said Dr. Mark Hanshaw, assistant professor of religion.
