Wesleyan is proud to join more than 100 Tarrant County companies and organizations in helping to promote the American Heart Association’s Start! Walk on Sept. 10. This free event is designed to promote walking as a part of a healthy lifestyle and to raise funds to support cardiovascular research and educational programs for the Tarrant County community.
Aaron Whaley, director of the Morton Fitness Center, has volunteered as the team leader for the Wesleyan campus, and he needs your help:
Team Captains: Team captains from around campus are needed to help sign up Wesleyan Walkers. Go to http://www.tarrantcountyheartwalk.org/ and click on the Big Blue Button that says “Register.” Once you agree to the terms, then click “Start a Team.” Scroll down to select Texas Wesleyan and then complete and submit the form — it’s easy! Plus, you can attend at Team Captain Appreciation Event on July 28! There will be free food, drinks, prizes and giveaways from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Omni Hotel.
Team Members: As many Wesleyan Walkers as possible are needed! Join the team and bring your family — it will be a fun event for everyone.
The 2011 Tarrant County Heart Walk (Start! Walk) will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, in the Fort Worth Stockyards. The race is free, but donations of any amount are needed to help us reach the goal of $3,000. If you have questions or want to sign up as a Team Member, email Aaron Whaley.
