President’s GEM Award: Information Technology and Business Services
I am proud to honor David Moses, Brigitte Mudukuti, Sonia Serrano and Artis Walls of the Information Technology and Business Services team (ITBS) with the President’s GEM award for their outstanding work this semester with the financial aid department and communications.
ITBS has been instrumental in helping the University meet our goal of mailing out scholarship and financial aid award letters to admitted students by March 1. Pushing up this mailing date means that Texas Wesleyan was one of the first universities to mail award letters for the 2014-2015 academic year. As the saying goes, “the early bird catches the worm,” and being first in mailing our award letters is crucial to attaining our enrollment goals. Research shows that the university that reaches admitted students first with scholarship and financial aid award letters is more likely to convert those students into enrolled students.
I would also like to express my gratitude to this team for their work in implementing the new sign-up page for emergency alerts. There is no greater priority than the safety of our students, faculty and staff. The ease in which students and employees can now sign-up to receive emergency alerts means that our emergency alert system can work more efficiently and reach more people faster. If you haven’t signed-up to receive text alerts to your mobile device, I encourage you to take the time today.
Again, my sincerest thank you to the ITBS team for their contributions to the success of our university goals. Please help me in thanking them for making our systems run smoothly and seamlessly.
